Hard Disk Partitioning and Formatting

Warning: The following is definitely going to wipe all information from your hard disk so make sure

(a) you have backed up all data and programs

(b) your back-ups are reliable

(c) you can recover from your backup files.

Step 1: First Put PCCARE CD into your computer and restart,   you will see the boot menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 2: Select option 3 “HardDisk Tools” press<Enter> to run you will see the sub-menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 3: Select 3.3 “Format Disk tools”press<Enter> to run and Select 3.3.1 “Graphical Formatter”

you will see the <partition-1>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)


Step 4: Now, use your mouse select “Partition” in the upper right and hit “Delete.you will see the <partition-2>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 5: Use your mouse to click "Delete" Then you should see the <partition-3>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 6: Now, use your mouse select “Yes” from the “Small menu”.you will see the <partition-4>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 7: Now, use your mouse select “Create Primary” from the “Partitions menu”. you will see the <partition-5>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 8: you should see a “size” box with a number already entered in. -This is the capacity of your hard drive in Megabytes.
-To create partitions, your primary partition cannot be the full capacity of your drive. -If your drive is 160GB (16,0000 mega bytes) you can make an any size of Primary partition if you want.

if you select full capacity of your drive, from the “Create Primary menu”, this means "non-partition" choice. you will see the <partition-6>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 9 : use your mouse select “Yes” from the “Small menu”.you will see the <partition-7>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 10: use your mouse select “Partition” in the upper right and hit “Save Change”.you will see the <partition-8>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 11: use your mouse select “Partition” in the upper right and hit “Format....you will see the <partition-9>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 12: use your mouse click Format....you will see the <partition-10>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 13: use your mouse select “Yes” from the “Small menu”.you will see the <partition-11>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 14: you have 3 choice of format type: 1.Quick format... 2.Full format...and safe format.. Quick format means "Erase only".

Full format means "Check hard drive, erase and repair" and safe format means "Test and erase hard drive".

if you select "Full" and click “Yes” from the “Small menu”.you will see the <partition-12>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 15: use your mouse select “OK” from the “Small menu” and wait.. you will see the <partition-13>menu coming… (Please see screenshots below)

Step 16: use your mouse select “OK” from the “Small menu”, now, your job is Done!
